Legal Secretary

This is a Temp-to-Hire opportunity with a local law firm in Marshalltown. This is a full-time position and provides a dynamic work environment
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
o Welcomes guests and clients by greeting them in person or the phone answering or directing inquiries
o Produces information by transcribing, formatting inputting, editing, retrieving, copying, and transmitting text, data, and graphics; coordinating case preparation
o Maintains attorney calendar by planning and scheduling conferences, teleconferences, disposition, and travel; recording and monitoring court appearance dates, pleadings, and filing requirements; monitoring evidence-gathering anticipating change sin litigation or transaction preparation requirements
o Maintains client confidence by keeping client/attorney information confidential
o Provides historical reference by developing and utilizing filing and retrieval systems; recording meeting discussions; maintaining transcripts; documenting and maintaining evidence
SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS
o Proficient with Microsoft Office
o Strong attention to detail
o Ability to multi-task
o Ability to effectively communicate
o Ability to problem solve
o Strong organizational skills
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
o High School Diploma/Equivalent
o Prior experience in a legal office/environment preferred but not required
WORK HOURS/SHIFT
o Monday - Friday 8 am - 5 pm
WAGE
o $10+/hr -- Commensurate with experience

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
