LSI seeks dedicated and energetic individual to work part-time 32
(hours/week) as aDirect Support Professionalwithin the Services for People with Disabilities program in Marshalltown.
Hours are 6:30am-2:30pm.
Duties: A Direct Support Professional (DSP) is a person who works with a group of 2-3 individuals with a developmental disability or chronic mental illness in their home. A DSP acts as an advocate for the disabled individual in communicating their needs, self-expression and goals.
The DSP will provide support, assistance and instruction in areas which facilitate personal growth and independence. Will provide instructions in learning independent living skills like money management, socialization, cooking and personal hygiene to adults that need 24 hour support. Support to individuals will be provided at the clients- home and in the community.
Qualifications: Qualified applicants will have a high school diploma or GED. Experience working with people with disabilities preferred.
This position requires a valid driver's license, auto insurance, a good driving record and the ability to pass an extensive background check including checks of the Dependent Adult and Child Abuse registries, Sex Offender registry and a criminal history check.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
